Guest limit is not the number of berths
Every catamaran page shows the day-charter limit — how many people may be on board for a trip. Sleeping berths are a different number used for overnight charters. A 44 ft Lagoon 450 has 12 berths and takes 12 guests; a Bali 4.0 has only 6 berths but takes up to 15 on a day trip.
Comfortable, not just allowed
The limit is a maximum. For a relaxed day with room to sunbathe and eat together, plan a little below it — for example 8–10 people on a catamaran rated for 12.
Which catamaran for how many
- Up to 8 guests — compact and premium sailing catamarans like Excess 11, C-Cat 37 or Catana 50.
- 10–12 guests — the widest choice: AFYKA 39, Nautitech 40, Lagoon 450s, Bali 5.4.
- 13–16 guests — Lagoon 45 (up to 16), Bali 4.0 and Sunreef 68 (up to 15).
- Large groups — event catamarans Trojan and Tahiti 80 (up to 96).
When the limit is “to be confirmed”
For a few catamarans the sources disagree about the guest number. Our catalogue filter does not match them automatically — they appear in a separate “to be confirmed” group, and we check the limit for your group before sending an offer.
Use the filter
In the catalogue enter the number of guests: you will only see catamarans whose confirmed limit fits your group.
